“YoonKids launched with a series of girl characters ranging from princess to snowboarder, from painter to scientist,” say Suzie Yoon, a self-proclaimed doodler, physician, and mother of three. Then their boy prints soon followed to round out the entire collection. "We also created Yoonies, a series of creatures that remind us of the wobbly stuffed animals our mom hand-sewed for us as kids. The clean lines of the Silhouette series are inspired by images and icons of our childhood including butterflies, lovebirds, trees, and peace signs. These can all work easily not only in a nursery, but also in a toddler or tween's bedroom."

The Yoon sisters also feel it is important to provide a choice of hair, skin, and background colors. "With just a click of your mouse, you can customize each piece by previewing your color options. We wanted to create an online environment where customers can have fun with our designs," says Cindy Yoon, who spent years as a museum web director in New York City. She now designs for YoonKids bringing together her love of prints, patterns, and collage. 

Each piece is made through a fine art giclée printing process. With this unique customized look, YoonKids hopes their customers have fun with the entire proces - from picking among the different characters, then playing with colors, to finally receiving their prints ready-to-hang.

A portion of YoonKids profits will be donated to the nation's largest children's literacy organization, Reading is Fundamental (RIF).
